Smart Clinic Featured At ACG 2015 in Honolulu, Hawaii

We are very proud Smart Clinic was featured during Dr. Brennan Spiegel’s lecture, “How Information Technology Will Transform Gastroenterology,” at this year’s American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dr. Spiegel’s American Journal of Gastroenterology Lecture focused on how evolutions in technology, including mobile apps, electronic patient portals, wearable health monitors and social media are able to expand care outside of the provider visit and improve health outcomes. We are honored to have been complimented during his discussion of outstanding mobile applications.

“This is a very nice application that the ACG is working with now as well,” said Dr. Spiegel. “This one is very mature and well-developed.”

“It’s really for practices to improve their efficiency,” continued Dr. Spiegel. “This is a very elegant way between patients and providers to improve prep for colonoscopy, to message back and forth, to provide appointment reminders, to track compliance with medications. You can push out satisfaction surveys and quality of life surveys and really program it to your needs.”

Dr. Spiegel is the new Director of Health Services Research at the Cedars-Sinai Center for Outcomes Research and Education. He is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Digestive Diseases, UCLA School of Medicine, the Department of Health Services, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and an attending physician in the Division of Gastroenterology, VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System.
